COLUMBUS — Three professionals at Columbus Physical Therapy, P.C. officially became credentialed in Clinical Instruction on January 24, 2009, at the Creighton University Medical Center’s School of Physical Therapy. Rusty Kuhl, owner and physical therapist, Becky Krause and Courtney Wright both physical therapist assistants completed the American Physical Therapy Association Clinical Instructor Education and Credentialing Program together.
“Being credentialed as clinical instructors will allow us to help educate the next generation of physical therapy professionals,” said Kuhl. “It’s a way we can give back to our community and to the profession we love.”
The Clinical Instructor Credentialing Program addresses issues of:
- planning and preparing for physical therapist and physical therapist assistant students during their clinical education experiences
- developing learning experiences in the clinic
- supporting ongoing learning through questions and effective feedback
- identifying and managing students with exceptional situations and
- identifying legal implications for clinical educators, including issues presented by ADA legislation
