COLUMBUS - Relay For Life is an annual team event organized to raise money for the American Cancer Society. This weekend Columbus Physical Therapy, P.C., and HyVee held a Relay For Life fundraiser called “Stick It to Cancer,” in which duct tape was sold to the public for an opportunity to duct tape DARE Officer Buddy Machmeier, Lakeview High School Coach Kurt Frenzen, and Lynette Hogelin of Lynette’s Dance Studio, to a wall.
“I enjoyed being a part of this event and the small part I played in assisting the American Cancer Society to raise funds for cancer research. I appreciate all the donations made for such a worthy cause,” said Coach Frenzen, “a big thank you to all the volunteers who made this happen.”
Officer Buddy Machmeier said, “it was fun and I am glad that I was able to help raise money for such a great cause. Not only should we continue to make people aware of cancer but money is needed to try and find a cure for this terrible disease.”
According to Lynette Hogelin, “HyVee provided the venue for a very fun atmosphere and Columbus Physical Therapy did a great job promoting it. The community really pulled together to help us raise $1000 for the American Cancer Society. We are thrilled.”
