Columbus Physical Therapy,P.C., State of Nebraska Declare October PT Month

COLUMBUS — The State of Nebraska, in conjunction with Columbus Physical Therapy, P.C., (CPT) recently proclaimed October as physical therapy month. CPT and physical therapists nationwide will recognize the profession throughout the celebration, which is themed, “It’s all about movement.”

WHEREAS, The American Physical Therapy Association will observe October as National Physical Therapy Month; and

WHEREAS, This year’s national theme is “Physical Therapy: it’s all about movement”; and

WHEREAS, The Nebraska Chapter of the American Physical Therapy Association encourages active and healthy lifestyles through its mission of advancing and promoting the profession of physical therapy, supporting its members in order to improve and advocate for the physical health and functional abilities of the individuals and communities they serve; and

WHEREAS, The Nebraska Chapter of the American Physical Therapy Association speaks for the best interest of the public in recommending physical therapy by a licensed physical therapist to achieve physical fitness; and

WHEREAS, The Nebraska Chapter encourages community members to join together to raise awareness of the importance of preventive health during the month of October; and

WHEREAS, This effort will bring awareness to our community, and around the country, of healthier and more active lifestyles.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Dave Heineman, Governor of the State of Nebraska, DO HEREBY PROCLAIM the month of October 2008 as

PHYSICAL THERAPY MONTH

in Nebraska, and I do hereby urge all citizens to join in a national effort to raise health and fitness awareness.
